Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

A barista / waiter is someone that specializes in making drinks, taking orders and serving food and beverages and to always be aware of the client’s satisfaction to deliver the perfect service experience.

2.         MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare non-alcohol beverages (coffee, smoothies, and juices)
  • Provide excellent overall dining experience for our guests
  • Greet customers, inform them about daily specials
  • Follow all safety standards when working with machines including blenders, grinders, commercial coffee machines, and steamers
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely and polite manner
  • Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization
  • Operate POS system pursuant to company standards, maintain proper cash levels
  • Monitoring the fridge temperature
  • Keep entire coffee area and machines clean
  • Inspect any food items in the café and ensure the proper quality is maintained
  • Check expiration codes and inspect all items during shift.  Pull expired items and document
  • Recommending product and process improvements
  • Always presentable, tidy and in full uniform
  • Effectively communicate with Kitchen Staff to make sure orders are accurate
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations

3.         QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Secondary School qualifications

2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
