Job Description

Customer Service

  1. To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times
  2. To provide a quick and efficient service 
  3. To demonstrate a high standard of personal appearance, always wearing the full and correct uniform and ensuring good personal hygiene
  4. To build up rapport with regular customers
  5. To meet, greet and seat guests in a friendly, welcoming manner
  6. To be fully aware of opening times and have a full and up to date knowledge of restaurant products and services
  7. To handle customer and visitor enquiries or requests, providing correct and accurate assistance or information which meets customer needs
  8. To handle complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating genuine care and concern•To ensure all telephone calls are handled politely and efficiently, ascertaining and accurately meeting the caller’s needs•
  9. To confirm reservations

Reception Responsibilities

  • To arrive at work for a rostered shift and be punctual, always following company absence, lateness procedure if unable to do so
  • To maintain all menus and price lists
  • To control reservations in order to maximise the number of covers.  Control group bookings, liaising with the Reservations Manager and Duty Manager
  • To report any personnel issues to the management team.
  • To ensure the reception area is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • To monitor standards and supply of all equipment, ensuring management team are aware of any needs.
  • To treat company property with due care and attention
  • To attend meetings / training sessions as required by the management team
  • To be fully aware of current legislation regarding hygiene, licensing laws, weights and measures as they apply to the restaurant
  • Adhering to and maintaining cleaning checklists
  • To ensure all stationery requirements are met
