Job Description

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and ambitious Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. As a Chef De Partie is responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, such as pastry, butchery, fish, sauces, or vegetables. They are tasked with maintaining the highest standards and ensuring consistent quality in daily food preparation. Additionally, they stay informed about new products, recipes, and preparation techniques to continually enhance culinary offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintain consistent food preparation standards for section food items in accordance with kitchen recipes and protocols.

· Provide guidance and training to junior staff members in alignment with restaurant standards.

· Uphold high standards of food hygiene and enforce health and safety regulations for self and station cooks.

· Monitor portion sizes and implement waste control measures.

· Coordinate daily mise en place activities in collaboration with sous and executive chefs.

· Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of food preparation procedures, receiving protocols, storage guidelines, and sanitation standards.

· Possess thorough understanding of the menu, standard recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards.

· Operate and upkeep kitchen equipment to ensure optimal functionality, promptly reporting any malfunctions to superiors.

· Foster effective communication among kitchen staff to maintain a positive and cohesive work environment.

· Cultivate and sustain productive working relationships with other departments.

· Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines while motivating team members to do the same.

· Regularly monitor expiry dates and ensure proper storage of food items within the section.
· Serve as a role model for junior cooks, setting a high standard of performance and conduct.

· Collect daily feedback and promptly report any issues to management.

· Fulfill any additional duties assigned by superiors.

· Ensure cooking stations are adequately stocked with supplies.

· Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment.

· Comply with the company environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
