Job Description
Job Pupose
A Demi Chef De Partie is responsible for ensuring that food preparation meets established standards and is ready for service. Moreover, they provide guidance to cooks during mise en place and support the section leader as needed to ensure seamless service.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain uniformity in the preparation of section food items, following kitchen recipes and standards meticulously.
- Arrange and prepare workstations with essential ingredients and cooking utensils.
- Document mise en place checklist under the supervision of the section leader.
- Commence each workday by adhering to the mise en place checklist, seeking guidance from the section leader if any uncertainties arise.
- Ensure section cooks are well-informed about standards and expectations.
- Assist section cooks in their daily mise en place activities.
- Uphold the highest standards of quality and consistency in daily food preparation, staying updated on new products, recipes, and techniques.
- Provide guidance and supervision to subordinates in their daily food preparation tasks, actively participating in the setup of buffets and special events.
- Collaborate with other sections to ensure cleanliness, minimize wastage, and control costs.
- Monitor stock movement and manage ordering for the designated section.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, including food hygiene policies.
- Display flexibility and readiness to assist the restaurant kitchen during peak hours as required.
- Maintain kitchen health and safety standards, taking necessary actions and reporting hazards promptly.
- Fulfill any other reasonable duties assigned by the Senior Management Team.
- Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment.
- Comply with the company environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
