Job Description:

As a Hostess at Jala, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they receive a warm and professional welcome. You will manage reservations, greet guests, and assist in seating arrangements to optimise the flow of service. Your role will be crucial in creating a positive first impression and maintaining an inviting atmosphere that reflects Jala’s commitment to excellence.

You will also be responsible for handling guest inquiries and ensuring that each visit to Jala is memorable and enjoyable.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and seat guests with a friendly and professional demeanour, ensuring a warm welcome to Jala.
• Manage reservations and walk-in guests, coordinating seating to optimise table turnover and guest satisfaction.
• Provide accurate wait times and updates to guests, managing expectations effectively.
• Assist with special requests, ensuring that guest needs are met promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a clean and organised front-of-house area, including the reception and waiting areas.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns with tact and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a smooth and seamless dining experience.
• Promote positive guest experiences through exceptional service and attention to detail.
• Ensure positive reviews and engagement on social media platforms, actively participating in the restaurant’s online presence.
• Utilise restaurant software to manage reservations, track guest preferences, and streamline front-of-house operations.
• Handle situations involving drunk or unruly customers with professionalism and tact, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all guests.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a hostess or in a customer-facing role in a high-end or fine dining establishment is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to outstanding service.
• Ability to handle guest inquiries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
• A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
• Preferred nationality: Any European country, Russia, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, or Latin American countries.
• Experience with restaurant software and managing online reservations is required.
• Experience or interest in managing social media interactions and ensuring positive online reviews is required.
• Multilingual skills are highly desirable to effectively communicate with a diverse clientele.
