With 8 galleries (each containing interactive, hands-on, open-ended, thought-provoking activities), we exist to bring wow experiences to children - creating a wholesome and delight-filled alternative to screen-based fun. Each space has been thoughtfully conceived with creativity and innovation, designed to inspire, stimulate imagination and curiosity, and spark a love of learning.

Position summary

Assistant Café manager is responsible for overseeing our Café operations – ensuring high standards of the guest experience, safety, and financial performance. The ideal candidate will be an experienced food and beverage leader able to ensure that policies, guidelines and procedures are consistently met. And a great coach who can get the best out of people and continually drive operational performance and execution.

Hours: 48 hours a week (6 days a week incl weekends and public holidays / 1 weekday off)

Compensation: AED 8,000-AED 10,000 + benefits / per month

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management is preferred
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Understanding of financial concepts
  • Understanding of local laws, culture and policies
  • Passion for hospitality, food, and retail
  • Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills

Experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in restaurant or hospitality or retail
  • Experience is working with children and families is preferred
  • Certification of Basic Hygiene Training & Person in Charge Training is preferred

Skills required

  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests, suppliers and team members
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Leadership skills (overseeing two Café team members and might increase)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume environment
  • Ability (and enthusiasm) to work in a cultural diverse environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintains operational standards in the Café
  • Provides friendly, courteous, and efficient customer service to all guests and visitors
  • Contributes to a positive team-based and ‘visitor-first’ centric culture
  • Understands all menus, product offerings, packaging, and pricing
  • Ensures all areas have proper displays and merchandise
  • Ensures all security, safety, and sanitation standards are executed
  • Provides operational planning to ensure appropriate teaming levels are met, as well as adequate products ordered to service each event
  • Follows and executes preventative maintenance schedule
  • Holds team accountable to steps of service to deliver great guest service
  • Ensures quality standards are maintained at all times
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, suppliers, and OliOli® team members
  • Regularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operations
  • Responds and assists in any departmental guest service issues
  • Executes all menus, promotions, and programs as outlined
  • Achieves daily sales and assigned cost goals
  • Achieves assigned budget goals
  • Effectively verifies all opening and closing inventories
  • Executes required daily reporting in a timely manner
  • Ensures required department reports are completed and information is compiled at month-end closing
  • Forecasts and adequately schedules team members to meet operational needs and desired targets
  • Ensures proper cash handling procedures are being performed
  • Ensures assigned areas are fully stocked and are ready for operation
  • Ensures complete maintenance and on-site training of the current POS system and equipment
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and develops team members according to OliOli® guidelines
  • Other responsibilities, as needed
