  • Selling menu items and up-sale through recommendation.
  • Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any complaint.
  • Collect payments and process bills for customers.
  • Write customers’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or hand orders to cashier for transmittal to kitchen staff.
  • Process customer bills or payments.
  • Serve food or beverages to customers, and prepare or serve dishes at tables as required.
  • Present menus to customers and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
  • Clean tables or counters after customers have finished dining.
  • Arrange tables or dining areas.
  • Inform customers of daily specials.
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as wet wipes, ketchup, mayo, salt and tissues
  • Collect dirty dishes or other tableware.
  • Answer phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
  • Assist customers with seating arrangements.
  • Perform cleaning duties.
  • Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
  • Perform food preparation duties
  • Prepare foods for cooking or serving.
  • Assists and supports the head chef in food preparation.
  • Is involved in the training of lower cadre staff.
  • Enforces safety, health and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
  • Ensures that orders are delivered to the customers in a timely manner and the quality standard as per the SOP.
