Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, including cakes, pies, tarts, cookies, and bread, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Follow recipes and create new, innovative dessert concepts based on seasonal ingredients and trends.
  • Decorate pastries to enhance their presentation and appeal.
  • Ensure all food products meet safety and quality standards and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient production of all baked goods.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Adapt to changing customer demands and special requests.
  • Stay current with new pastry techniques and trends in the culinary world.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a high-end bakery or restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and baking methods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and consistency.
  • Creative with a keen sense of taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Certification from a culinary school or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards in Dubai.
  • Valid food handler certification or completion of Dubai Municipality food safety training is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
