Job Description

Job Profile:

To maintain the highest level standards set by La Carnita Restaurant. Ensure quality and consistency of the service in the restaurant. Keep the floor teams highly motivated.

Outline of Role & Responsibilities:

Main Duties:

· Ensure all working staff are in full uniform and on time for their shift.

· Distribute the daily duties among other members of staff.

· Assist in/or monitor the setup of the restaurant.

· Ensure all pre shift duties are completed to LA CARNITA RESTAURANT standards.

· Check the booking sheet to identify the regulars and VIP customers.

· Attend briefing with managers.

· Place copied of section plans into each department.

· Count the floats and provide them to each section/ department.

· Assist the manager on duty with his efforts to enforce LA CARNITA RESTAURANT service standards and order of service.

· Welcome guests on arrival and bid a friendly farewell on departure.

· Ensure that all the necessary stock is being replenished during the shift.

· Offer support to new recruits on job training.

· Observe guests during their meal and make sure they feel that they are satisfied with their experience in La Carnita Restaurant.

· Take prompt action if you feel that guest are not satisfied.

· Ensure all staff members of the floor take their breaks within the allotted time.

· When possible, assist guests to migrate to the bar/cartel and transfer their bills correctly.

· Ensure handover of the sections are done properly so that the guests will have a flawless service without interruption of any kind.

· Assist the managers to maintain all La Carnita Restaurant standards until closing.

· Distribute all closing duties and make sure that they are completed on time.

· Help the cashier with cashing up for the closing manager.

Training & Development

· To attend all training sessions as requested.

· Initiate training sessions to floor member staffs.

· Provide input for performance review discussions in line manager with company guidelines.

Housekeeping/Maintenance

· Ensure maintenance/cleaning audits are regularly carried out. Check all areas cleanliness daily and action accordingly.

· Ensure the front of house areas are maintained and cleaned to the highest possible standards on a daily basis.

· Check light bulbs are working throughout the venue daily and ensure that all maintenance issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

· Inevitably, equipment and systems will break down; ensure things get fixed when broken. Liaise with higher management regarding maintenance priorities and cost.

· To be aware of all statutory regulations affecting safety and ensure that any safety hazard is rectified.

General:

· Report for duty punctually wearing appropriate attire.

· Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times, always remembering that you lead by example.

· Establish and maintain a good rapport and working relationship with all the staff in La Carnita Restaurant and all other departments as well as suppliers.

· Provide a courteous, professional, attentive and efficient service at all times with all La Carnita Restaurant departments and customers.

· Attend and contribute to all staff briefings and other related activities.

· Carry out any other responsibilities or duties as assigned.

· Support new recruits through on the job training.

Health and Safety and Welfare:

· To ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and rectified.

· Emergency procedures are rehearsed monthly and attendance records are kept; all emergency procedures need to be implemented and enforced to provide for security and safety of guest and employees.

· Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises by fairly applying La Carnita Restaurant regulations, by strict adherence to existing laws, statutes and applicable ordinances, and by anticipating possible and probable hazards and conditions and wither correcting them or pre-planning a defense against them.
