Requirements

As a Sommelier, you will be responsible to act as the restaurant’s wine expert and create wine lists that pair with the food menu. Ultimately, delight the guests by helping them choose the best wine to complement their fare. You should be fully familiar with worldwide wines, the best vintages and be able to develop a balanced and profitable wine list for all outlet types. You will train all the service employees of the restaurant on wine knowledge and service and ensure a consistency of high standard is always maintained.

  • High School graduate or Diploma in Hotel Catering
  • Detailed Food and Beverages knowledge (within a Quality Luxury Brand)
  • Certificate in Wines, Spirits and Alcoholic beverages (WSET Level 4 or international equivalent)
  • Extensive wine and beverages knowledge
  • Knowledge of at least one European language (Italian, French, Spanish, German, etc)
  • Previous Sommelier experience in a 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools and POS
  • Experience in managing food costs and inventory control
  • Creative / flexible / open minded approach
