Job Description

Barry's Studio Manager

As Studio Manager, you will oversee and manage the day to day studio operations whilst also managing in studio teams to ensure we are building a strong local community and delivering the best possible client experience. This role requires a strong balance between maintaining best practice in both studio operations and people management.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO

CLIENT EXPERIENCE:

·       Assess customer needs, maintain quality standards for services, and evaluate customer satisfaction

·       Understand the brand vision and ensure this is lived and demonstrated in the studio at all times.

·       Adopt and adapt learnings from the Client Experience team to create a strong local community

·       Deliver studio client conversion target

·       Assist with client queries, maintain the highest level of service at all times

·       Work studio desk shifts to showcase the best of brand skills and mentor in studio teams

·       Lead in-studio Client Experience projects

·       Use knowledge of the local market and client feedback to identify areas of improvement or opportunity

OPERATIONS 

·       Oversee the day-to-day operations of your studio

·       Take care of petty cash in the studio

·       Drive the business towards the projected targets 

·       Maintain stock levels for all studio supplies, inclusive of retail and the Red Room

·       Manage studio schedules for in studio teams. Ensure shifts are approved accordingly and the studio has adequate staffing coverage

·       Assist HR with the staff holiday approval.

·       Complete studio ‘walkarounds’ on a daily basis and report issues to the operations manager.

·       Troubleshoot operational issues and be on call to assist with any studio emergencies. 

·       Liaise and work with outside contractors to make sure all operational projects / issues are completed accordingly

·       Proactively check all areas of Health and Safety and ensure all records are up to date

·       Adhere to financial studio budgets and drive cost saving initiative.

LEADERSHIP 

·       Deliver all company communications to the relevant employees within your studio

·       Assist HR with the recruitment, training and development process for the front of house team and facilities teams for your studio

·       Address employee relations concerns and escalate to the HR if necessary 

·       Educate staff on the Barry’s handbook and promote a positive working environment

·       Complete probation reviews, yearly appraisals and address all development needs of your team

·       Recognize and develop talent within your team

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

·       At least 2 years’ experience within a similar management role

·       Assertive and clear style of communication

·       Strategic thinker

·       Strong delegation, time management, and leadership skills.

·       Ability to work on your own initiative to solve a range of problems that may arise.

·       Ability to maintain effective working relationships at all levels.

·       Proven ability to multi-task and communicate across departments.

·       Exceptional attention to detail.

·       Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and delegate work where necessary.

·       Excellent supervisory and conflict resolution skills.

·       Experience developing, coaching, and mentoring diverse management teams.

·       Understanding of the fitness, health and wellness industries.

·       Passion for the Barry's brand.

FURTHER INFORMATION

·       Your normal working hours are not variable; however, your working pattern will vary depending on the needs of the business. You will be expected to work a minimum of 45 hours across the 5 days a week, including at least one of the weekends.

·       Other duties may be assigned on an ad hoc basis.
