Job Overview

As the Hostess, you will provide great and positive impression to all our guests, to be open, honest, welcoming, friendly, always smiling, to shine like a great actress on the scene.

You will welcome them in the restaurant and address their inquiries before escorting to the table and additionally, you will ensure all telephone calls and emails are handled politely and efficiently, providing correct and accurate assistance to meet guest satisfaction.

You will interface with customers and be responsible for the first and last greetings and to always focus on guest’s needs. Hence, based on guests' priority provide the highest standards of customer care to give an authentic experience from the welcome of the service till the farewell.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • To highly meet and greet all guests and ensure their entire stay is with utmost satisfaction.
  • To ensure all opening, midday, closing, and weekly duties are performed according to the checklist.
  • To make sure that all the reception area is always kept clean and tidy.
  • To ensure on performing related duties in the restaurant when necessary
  • To ensure all stationary requirements are met for each operation.
  • To ensure menus are maintained neat and clean before sharing to guest.
  • To maintain clean database by ensuring every profile has correct information: first name, last name, personal phone number, email, title and picture if available.
  • To consistently update guests’ profiles with preferences and their needs: food and drink choice; seat preference.
  • To know all our Regular guests and VIP customers, recognize them, call by name and look after.
  • To consistently recognize and accommodate Regular guests and VIP’s.
  • To answer phone calls attentively and assist guests accordingly to their request.
  • To escort guests to the bar and table and additionally assist in changing the tables if required.
  • To ensure all bookings are taken correctly, with all booking policies and reservation flow being respected.

 

Departmental/Operational Responsibilities

  • To demonstrate lofty standards in all interactions related to personal appearance.
  • To recognize guests’ preferences and anticipate them.
  • To manage all guests’ complaints in a friendly and effective way, if escalated, to report to upper management.
  • To maintain lofty standards of quality control, hygiene and health & safety.
  • To well establish a good rapport and working relationship with all staff and all other departments.
  • To provide a courteous, professional, attentive, and efficient service always with all departments and customers.
  • To smoothly observe guests during their meal and make sure they feel that they are satisfied.
  • To always act and perform accordingly to Bar Des Pres standards and procedures.
  • To greet all customers in a warm and friendly manner, welcome them in the restaurant and address their inquiries before escorting to the table.
  • To efficiently use reservation systems (take, confirm, amend, cancel reservations).
  •  To have a thorough knowledge of the menu, wine list, digestive and bar list of Bar Des Pres restaurant.
  • To always ensure an excellent guest experience.
  • To efficiently use the Reservation systems and ask for assistance if there is any challenges to avoid conflicts.

 

People Management

  • To be willing and ready to assist colleagues as and when situations arise.
  • To always be ready to assist the new joiners on their training plans.
  • To ensure and successfully follow daily duties and role responsibilities with team members.
  • To respond quickly and positively to changes within your job role, showing flexibility.

 

Communication

  • To socialize with workmates, enhance the team spirit of vibrant culture of Bar Des Pres reception team.
  • To attend and contribute to all staff briefings and other management and organization meetings.
  • To distribute waiters notes and communicate return times on tables in a correct and timely manner.
  • To communicate all maintenance requirements of the reception department and ensure timely repairs.

 

Leadership

  • To ensure and be responsible to manage complaints promptly and professionally.
  • To ensure all telephone calls and emails are managed politely and efficiently, providing correct and accurate assistance which meets customer needs.
  • To allocate reservations in the optimal way to meet the customer needs and maximize number of covers.
  • To check the book to identify all special requests, regulars, and VIP customers, ensure all requests are provided accordingly (deliveries, flowers, cakes, etc.).
  • To be responsible to manage complaints promptly and professionally.
