ACCOUNTANT 

Job Title                                   Accountant

Reports to                                General Manager 

Responsible for                        Managing financial transactions, budgeting, and financial reporting 

Overview

As the Accountant, you are not only responsible for managing financial transactions, budgeting, and financial reporting of the venue, but you are also here to create an environment where our employees and our guests can feel welcomed and enjoy the variety of services that we have to offer. 

Main Responsibilities 

•        Maintain accurate and complete financial records, including daily sales, expenses, payroll, and bank reconciliations. 

•        Monitor cash flow and manage petty cash. 

•        Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger. 

•        Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments, after getting the correct approvals. 

•        Reconcile accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts. 

•        Process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes. 

•        Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding payroll. 

•        Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies. 

•        Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 

•        Generate financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. 

•        Assist in budget preparation and financial planning. 

•        Prepare and file sales tax returns. 

•        Assist with the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors. 

•        Monitor and analyse food and beverage costs and expenses. 

•        Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. 

•        Develop and maintain internal control procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. 

•        Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with established procedures. Key Skills 

•        Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices. 

•        Proficiency in accounting software. 

•        Attention to detail and accuracy. 

•        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. •     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
